I'm currently using Maple Pro 1.17, and found that the .mpl files I was creating were huge, because Maple converted all of the included jpegs into bitmaps. Because of this, it was also slow going whenever it had to save. So, I took a look at version 6, and found that it was much better on the size. What different does version 6 do to pictures to keep the size down?
Also, in a version 6 file, I added two large images, and then copy-pasted another just below, and shrunk the size. All was fine, until I compacted the .mpl, and then the image disappeared! I was still sepectable... you just could see it (as if it wasn't redrawing it correctly).
Questions and a bug...
Maple 6 uses completely new database engine with optimized compression method. What different does version 6 do to pictures to keep the size down?
We know about this bug, and it will be fixed in the next major update. Also, in a version 6 file, I added two large images, and then copy-pasted another just below, and shrunk the size. All was fine, until I compacted the .mpl, and then the image disappeared! I was still sepectable
